Granville CSD proudly announces the promotion of Ms. Gabby Hunt, a dedicated physical education teacher at Granville Elementary, to the role of Jr/Sr High Athletic Director. Ms. Hunt, a lifelong competitive athlete herself, brings a deep passion for sports and education to her new position. She enjoys supporting her students by attending local soccer and Little League games, and has coached collegiate field hockey at Castleton University.
"When the opportunity arose to step into an athletic leadership role, I jumped at the chance to grow and contribute within our school community," Ms. Hunt shared enthusiastically. Her application was met with encouragement from Superintendent McGurl and the Board of Education, aligning with their commitment to providing growth opportunities for staff passionate about the Granville community.
Born and raised in Granville, Ms. Hunt has always been engaged in the local sports community. “I participated in five different sports during my time at Granville High School,” remarked Ms. Hunt. Each sport provided me an opportunity for growth and development not only as an athlete but as a person too. I strongly encourage students to take part in athletics not just for the competition but for the lessons, friendships, bonds, and opportunities that come along with participation.”
As the Jr/Sr High Athletic Director—a position that allows her to continue teaching physical education — Ms. Hunt aims to inspire student-athletes to excel both on the field and in the classroom. "I hope to increase sports participation and foster strong connections among families, coaches, and the wider community," she emphasized. "Sports provide a sense of belonging and motivation for academic success, and Granville offers diverse opportunities for students to explore athletics."

Sport Physicals: Fall sports will be starting in August and all students MUST have an updated physical on file with Mrs. Hover, our Jr/Sr School Nurse.
The Jr/Sr High is offering free physicals on Monday, August 19th from 9am-12pm. Call Mrs. Hover at 518-642-1051 ext. 2118 or email her at bhover@granvillecsd.org to schedule an appointment.
