PTO basketball court refresh GES

The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) of Granville Central School District has once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to enhancing our school community. What started as a search for a lasting initiative to benefit our students quickly evolved into a transformative project for our outdoor basketball courts at Granville Elementary.

When the PTO board identified a need voiced by our middle schoolers regarding the state of the GES outdoor basketball court, they wasted no time springing into action. Collaborating closely with Daniel Daigle, our district facilities leader, they navigated the process of soliciting bids to revitalize the courts. This involved planning and overseeing the application of a durable blacktop sealant and the addition of new basketball lines.

Thanks to the proactive efforts of our PTO and the invaluable support of Daniel Daigle, Mr. McGurl and Board of Education, Granville Elementary School now boasts an outdoor basketball court that is not only visually appealing but also safe and conducive to active play. This project exemplifies the spirit of community and collaboration that defines our school community.

Encouraged by this success, the PTO emphasizes the importance of community engagement: "If you see something that needs fixing in our community, talk to others about it and find a way to get it done. Little by little, we can all work together to build a bright future for our entire school community."

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the PTO and everyone involved for their dedication to enriching the educational experience of our students.
